Our staff members and principal, Hugh Miller, are firmly of the belief that standardised tests like NAPLAN only capture a tiny fraction of the excellent teaching practice and diverse range of student learning that takes place in our classrooms day in and day out, and that the results from such tests should not be used as a blunt instrument to measure school quality, teacher impact or overall student achievement.
Having said that, it is pleasing when we see positive trends in standardised test results, as it validates the targeted work our staff members and students are doing to improve teaching and learning at Stanmore Public School, and tells us that we are on the right track in our school improvement journey.
View our NAPLAN results in the My School website, and you will see that in 2022, our Year 3 results were above or close to similar schools in all domains, and our Year 5 results were close to similar schools in all domains. These are our best results across all the data through the years on My School.
