Promote a lifetime of healthy eating habits

Live Life Well at School

Crunch & Sip is a great way to build lifelong healthy habits - especially when the fruit and vegetables are fresh, tasty, and appealing.

Choose seasonal produce

Opt for fruit and veg that are in season - they’re usually fresher, tastier and more affordable. Look for items that feel firm, smell fresh, and look vibrant.

Get your child involved

Take your child shopping and let them help choose their Crunch & Sip snacks. Remind them to pick items that can be eaten raw and without much preparation. This is a great opportunity to talk about different fruits and vegetables, and to encourage them to try something new.

Fresh is best

Stick to fresh produce for Crunch & Sip. Dried and tinned fruits are much higher in sugar and should only be eaten occasionally. Packaged snacks like muesli bars, roll-ups, and fruit leathers contain too much sugar and not enough real fruit - so they’re not allowed as part of Crunch & Sip.

Make it a daily habit

Crunch & Sip isn’t just for school! Encourage your child to enjoy fruit, veggies and water every day - on weekends, during holidays, and at home. And remember: children learn by example. Share a Crunch & Sip moment with your child and show them that healthy eating is something the whole family can enjoy.
