We value our library and the joy that reading brings to our students - and we know the students love our library too.
Each year during Book Week, our school library teacher Jan Metzner runs a Book Drive to raise funds for new books and to replace well-loved titles that are showing their age. The most popular books always wear out the fastest - and your support helps us keep them on the shelves for every student to enjoy.
Families who are able are invited to make a donation via our online Donation Form. You can choose to donate one or more books at the value of $15, $20, $25 or $30.
After you donate, your child will be invited to the library during lunchtime in Book Week to personally select the book(s) they wish to donate from Jan’s fantastic collection of new children’s titles.
Each donated book will feature a dedication sticker with your child’s name, recognising their gift to the school. As a special thank you, students also get to borrow their chosen book(s) first to take home and enjoy before they go on the shelves for others to read.
All donations help us continue to provide a rich and engaging collection of quality books for our students - now and into the future.
A highlight of Book Week each year is our Book Parade, which will be held under the COLA on Thursday 7 August at 9:00 am.
Students can dress up as their favourite literary characters and take part in this wonderful school-wide parade. It's always a fun and colourful event, and past costumes have been amazingly creative and imaginative.
So start planning your costumes now - we can’t wait to see what characters come to life this year!
Thanks to our generous school community, the Book Drive raises on average, over $10,000 each year, adding around 500 new books annually to our library.
