National Simultaneous Storytime

This beloved annual event celebrates Australian stories and the joy of reading.

Each year, a picture book by an Australian author and illustrator is read aloud simultaneously in schools, libraries, childcare centres, bookshops, and homes across the country. This year’s book was The Truck Cat, written by Debra Frankel and illustrated by Danny Snell.

After enjoying the story together, the students teamed up to create origami cats inspired by the book. It was wonderful to see the Year 6 students supporting and encouraging their younger buddies, showing patience, care, and leadership throughout the activity.
