Book Week 2024

Book Week

This year our library will be celebrating Book Week during the week of August 19. The theme this year is “Reading is Magic”.

Our library will again be celebrating the love of reading during Book Week to be held the week of August 19-23.

As part of the celebration the Book Parade will take place on Thursday August 22 from 9:15 am. Students can let their imaginations run wild and celebrate their favourite literary characters in costume.

This is always a fun event for the kids and costumes in previous years have been quite amazing. So put your thinking caps on and start preparing now.

Reading is Magic

“Books aren't just marvellous, they are a marvel. They can transport us and transform us and return us to our original state. They are the greatest illusion. Mere words on a page when read can inspire the mind and a child to dream the impossible and head into the world in search of the possible!”

Competition

Inner West Libraries invite students to celebrate Book Week 2024 and participate in a drawing (K-2) and writing (3-6) competition.

Students are encouraged to be creative and use their imagination to explore the theme Reading is Magic.

There are lots of prizes to be won!

Winning entries will be showcased on the Inner West Libraries website, and winners will be invited to a special prize presentation to celebrate their talent.

This competition is managed by Inner West Council Libraries and closes Tuesday 6 August 2024.
