On Ride2School Day, over 200 children enjoyed riding to school and over 130 children walked to school.
Approximately eighty percent of families chose active transport (riding, walking and public transport). Compared to a count before the event, 50% fewer families drove to school on this day. Well done to all our families that participated and helped make the day a success.
On Wednesday this week prizes were given to the class in K-2 and the class in 3-6 that had the most riders on Ride2School Day 2024.
KJ had 17 and the winner of a bike helmet from 99 Bikes was Taidgh.
4T had 15 and the winner of some riding gloves from 99 Bikes was Gray.
A big congratulations to our winners and all the students who got active and rode to school.
An even bigger thank you to 99 Bikes for providing Stanmore Public School with such great prizes.
Ways to encourage active travel for children
