Kitchen Garden program

Our Kitchen Garden program allows our students to take part in pleasurable food education teaching students to grow fresh, seasonal produce and use it to prepare nutritious, delicious food.

Students are given all the skills, experiences and role modelling they need to learn to love their veggies and make healthier choices about what to cook and eat, for life.

Learn more about our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) program.

Volunteer

Volunteering is a fun way to get involved with your child’s education and see their learning progress first-hand.

SAKG lessons are held in the kitchen and garden each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term. They last between 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, depending on the year group. We always need parent volunteers to help ensure all the students get the most out of these lessons.

First-time volunteers will need to complete a Declaration for Child-Related Workers form, available at the school office. This is a one-off requirement and requires ID.

Families with a child in any of the Kindy and Stage 2 classes listed below are invited to volunteer:

  • KA
  • KB
  • KJ
  • K/1V
