Short Story Competition Winners (Stage 2 & 3)

Deborah Abela has organised, promoted and judged the Stanmore Writing Competition for twelve years now. We really appreciate the considerable time she takes to read and judge the children's stories. Her enthusiasm for reading and the writing process is really valued by the students.

This was a really tricky competition to judge because of the outstanding quality of the stories. When I judge a writing competition, I look for what many of us want in a book: an engaging story, with compelling characters and intriguing plots.

Thank you to all the Stanmore authors who entered. I am sure I'll be browsing bookshops for your novels one day. The winners are:
