Athletics News
It was a very exciting day at the athletics track in Sydney Olympic park on Wednesday 11th October. Six Stanmore students represented the Balmain zone at the Sydney East Regional Athletics carnival. Congratulations to Will P, Zac D, Melissa K, Louie M, Leo Z and Vivian M. All students performed highly and represented Stanmore with pride.
It was especially thrilling to see Vivian in the 100m, Girls 9 years final placing 1st in the region with a time of 14.92 as well as our Senior Boys relay team with Leo, Louie, Will and Zac speeding to a 1st place finish in the region with a time of 55.54.
We wish them all the best for the NSW state carnival in two weeks. What a feat for Stanmore!
Basketball News
In other sporting news, after a Basketball NSW high-performance trial Zac D has been selected to compete in the BNSW D-league for 2023 (the top 30 NSW metro players come together with the top 30 NSW country players to participate in a two-day tournament). As well as this Zac has been selected for the BSNW developing athlete program for 2024. Very exciting news for Zac!
Martial Arts News
As part of the Australian Martial Arts Junior Extreme team, Zac D and Herbert BW will compete in the ISKA Martial Arts World Cup (21st of Oct). We wish them all the best!
