On Saturday, 5 July 2025, Blake Sherriff had the privilege of meeting the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales.

Blake (5/6T) met the Governor at a special NAIDOC Week Reception held at Government House. Intended as a celebration and recognition of the history, the culture and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Governor was delighted to welcome over 100 representatives of community, government and cultural and educational organisations to Government House in celebration of this year's theme: 'The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy'.

In a truly memorable moment, the Governor personally presented Blake with a commemorative coin, marking the occasion in a way he will never forget.
