NAIDOC Week at Stanmore Public School

NAIDOC Week

National NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held across Australia from July 2nd - 9th.

NAIDOC Week recognises and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. As official celebrations will take place during the school holidays, Stanmore Public School will hold our NAIDOC celebrations in Week 2 next term.

We will begin the week with a special assembly on Monday 24th July at 9:00am, with special guests and a smoking ceremony. All families are welcome and encouraged to attend this assembly.

On Monday 24th July, students are invited to wear mufti clothes with a gold coin donation. We encourage students to wear colours from the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander flags and/or clothing that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. All money raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. We thank you for your support!
