Stanmore teachers honoured at Tri-Network Awards

We would like to congratulate Ms Bridget Poon and Mrs Janet Metzner who were last night awarded Marrickville Network Classroom Teacher Awards at the annual Tri-Network Award Ceremony.

Ms Poon honoured for passion and creativity

Our Specialist Music Teacher, Ms Bridget Poon received the award for her exceptional creativity, passion, and dedication in engaging students from Kindergarten to Year 6 through dynamic music lessons and extracurricular ensembles.

Ms Poon fosters confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music while enriching school events and culture. Beyond teaching, Ms Poon supports staff wellbeing as an elected NSW Teachers Federation Representative, promoting positive communication and providing valued advocacy. Her outstanding contributions embody excellence and service in public education.

Mrs Metzner leads the way in literacy and library innovation

Our Teacher Librarian, Mrs Janet Metzner is also the recipient of a Marrickville Network Classroom Teacher Award. She leads a vibrant, inclusive library that fosters a love of reading and supports classroom learning with a carefully curated collection.

Mrs Metzner's proactive resourcing of the English curriculum ensures teachers have timely access to high-quality materials, enabling seamless curriculum delivery.

Known for her generosity, reliability, and support, Mrs Metzner's commitment has been instrumental in strengthening reading outcomes and enhancing teaching and learning across the school.
