Stanmore Public School achieved an outstanding result at the Balmain Zone Athletics Carnival, finishing third overall out of 20 schools.

This may be our highest-ever finish at the carnival and was a fantastic result from our team. Every point mattered, and our students should be very proud of the way they competed and represented Stanmore.

Two students also featured in the age champion results.

Nellie B. was named the 12–13 Girls Age Champion after finishing with 18 points. She won the 100m, 200m and high jump.

Taliana G. finished as runner-up in the 8–10 Girls Age Championship with 17 points. She placed in six different events, including second-place finishes in the 200m, long jump and shot put.

Our relay teams also contributed valuable points. The 8–10 girls finished third, the 11–13 girls finished second, the 8–10 boys finished 11th and the 11–13 boys finished fifth.

Girls’ results

Alice M. placed 26th in the 8-year 100m and 6th in the 8–10 discus.

Anja H. placed 10th in the 8–10 800m and 9th in the 8–10 1500m.

Amy H. placed 32nd in the 11-year 200m.

Ava W. placed 14th in the 11-year 100m, 13th in the 11-year 200m and 2nd in the 11-year high jump.

Eliza R. placed 1st in the 12–13 discus.

Eliza T. placed 7th in the 12-year 100m and 2nd in the 12–13 long jump.

Isla W. placed 8th in the 9-year 100m.

Maeve M. placed 9th in the 10-year 100m and 9th in the 8–10 long jump.

Mariia M. placed 11th in the 11-year shot put.

Marley W. placed 13th in the 8–10 shot put.

Mia F. placed 5th in the 9-year 100m and 13th in the 8–10 200m.

Natasha B. placed 4th in the 12–13 800m and 2nd in the 12-year 1500m.

Nellie B. placed 1st in the 12-year 100m, 1st in the 12–13 200m, 1st in the 12–13 high jump and 10th in the 12–13 long jump.

Nyssa A. placed 23rd in the 8-year 100m.

Olivia H. placed 6th in the 12–13 800m and 6th in the 12-year 1500m.

Ruby G. placed 6th in the 8–10 1500m.

Taliana G. placed 3rd in the 10-year 100m, 2nd in the 8–10 200m, 3rd in the 8–10 800m, 4th in the 8–10 high jump, 2nd in the 8–10 long jump and 2nd in the 8–10 shot put.

Thalia K. placed 9th in the 12–13 200m and 10th in the 12–13 shot put.

Vivien W. placed 12th in the 11-year 100m.

Willa M. placed 3rd in the 11-year long jump.

Willow M. placed 2nd in the 12–13 high jump and 11th in the 12–13 shot put.

Boys’ results

Alexander S. placed 30th in the 10-year 100m and 3rd in the 8–10 high jump.

Bo H. placed 4th in the 8–10 shot put.

Cooper H. placed 11th in the 12–13 shot put.

Cy M. placed 28th in the 9-year 100m.

Darcy D. placed 8th in the 12-year 100m, 5th in the 12–13 200m, 4th in the 12–13 800m and 3rd in the 12-year 1500m.

Douglas D. placed 10th in the 8–10 1500m.

Edward L. placed 19th in the 8-year 100m.

Gray B. placed 6th in the 11-year high jump.

Hamish M. placed 25th in the 8-year 100m.

Herbie B. placed 6th in the 12–13 long jump.

Jerry M. placed 33rd in the 11-year 200m and 25th in the 11-year long jump.

Levi T. placed 26th in the 11-year 100m, 2nd in the 11-year high jump, 8th in the 11-year long jump and 3rd in the 11-year discus.

Louie K. placed 10th in the 11-year 1500m.

Max E. placed 24th in the 10-year 100m and 23rd in the 8–10 200m.

Miles D. placed 16th in the 11-year 100m and 20th in the 11-year 200m.

Raiden A. placed 10th in the 8–10 shot put.

Rocco D. placed 6th in the 9-year 100m, 7th in the 8–10 200m, 4th in the 8–10 high jump and 4th in the 8–10 long jump.

Toby D. placed 3rd in the 12-year 100m, 3rd in the 12–13 200m, 2nd in the 12–13 high jump and 5th in the 12–13 long jump.

Congratulations to every student who represented Stanmore. Finishing third out of 20 schools was an incredible team achievement and reflected the contribution of every runner, jumper, thrower and relay team.

A huge thank you also goes to the staff and families who supported our students throughout the carnival.
