Last Wednesday, 29 April, under clear blue skies, our teams proudly represented Stanmore, playing with enthusiasm and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day. The future of AFL at Stanmore looks bright, with our junior team delivering a dominant performance to win all of their matches convincingly.

The senior girls’ team also enjoyed a highly successful campaign. Finishing second in their pool earned them a semi-final clash against Newtown 2, the top team from the opposing group. In a hard-fought contest, Stanmore emerged victorious, setting up a grand final rematch against Newtown 1. Despite a determined and spirited effort, Newtown 1 proved too strong in the final.

Stanmore’s performance across the day was impressive, showcasing both skill and resilience.
