Tomato Festival success

tomato festival

The results are in. While we didn't quite reach our ambitious goal, Stanmore families still donated a very impressive 50kg of tomatoes!

We collected enough to make a year’s supply of delicious passata for our Kitchen Classroom program. And that certainly puts a smile on Ms Dimitra’s face!

The Kitchen was a hive of activity as Stage 1 students took charge of sterilising jars and mastering the moulis, while Stage 3 students handled the chopping and roasting, ensuring the tomatoes reached caramelised perfection before being transformed into our signature sauce.

A huge thank you to the entire Stanmore Public School community for your generous tomato donations. An extra special shout-out to those who supplied homegrown produce - nothing beats zero food miles!

Cooking together as a family is more than just making meals - it’s a chance to bond, learn, and create lasting memories. From developing essential life skills and encouraging healthy eating habits to teaching math and science through hands-on experience, the benefits are endless.

It’s also a great way to introduce kids to new foods and cultures while fostering confidence and independence in the kitchen. Plus, the sense of accomplishment and teamwork can make mealtime a truly rewarding experience for everyone.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed - we couldn’t do it without you!
