Students take charge on Clean Up Day

Following a successful Clean Up Australia Day event, our school is looking for creative student ideas to reduce waste in Term 2.

Our school grounds are looking better than ever! This past Thursday, Stanmore Public School students got busy for Clean Up Australia Day. After recess, classes headed outside to clear away old rubbish from fences, grass, and garden beds.

Armed with gloves and plenty of enthusiasm, our students did a fantastic job spotting even the smallest pieces of plastic. A huge thank you to Mrs Cannell and Mrs Varvaressos for organising the day and capturing the hard work on camera.

A note on Lost Property

While the school looks great, the clean-up revealed a mountain of lost property! Our collection area near TASK is currently overflowing with lunch boxes, drink bottles, hats, and jackets. If your child is missing something, please drop by and check the bins before the end of the term.

Looking ahead: Help us reduce waste

We are now challenging our students to think about how we can stop rubbish from appearing in the first place. Class 3/4B has already started brainstorming, and we want to hear from everyone!

Our Waste Warriors will be placing an "Idea Box" out in the first two weeks of Term 2. We encourage all students to use the school holidays to think of clever ways to keep our school clean and help the planet.
