Stanmore student wins big laughs at Sydney Comedy Festival
30 May 2025
Stanmore Public School’s own Emily Martin (4B) has taken home the top prize at this year’s Sydney Comedy Festival Kids Competition with her hilarious stand-up routine.
Emily impressed judges and audiences alike with her witty set - playfully poking fun at her parents - which earned her a spot in the final at the Factory Theatre in May. Performing alongside a line-up of talented young comedians, Emily delivered a standout performance and took out the top honour in the competition.
As part of her prize, Emily will perform again at the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase: PG Edition at the Comedy Store on Saturday 14 June. It’s a family-friendly night of laughs, featuring the festival’s top comedians - without the rude bits!
Well done, Emily - we can’t wait to see where you go from here.
