We’re joining the push for safer school roads, reminding everyone in our community to slow down, stay alert and take extra care around our children before and after school.

As another busy school term continues, it's a timely reminder that the safety of our children depends on all of us.

This year, several serious road incidents involving children have occurred across Sydney. While each incident is different, they all remind us that a moment's distraction can have lifelong consequences.

School zones are among the busiest places on our roads and young children can be unpredictable. We encourage everyone in our community to slow down to 40kph in school zones, stay alert, avoid u-turns and double-parking, and use designated drop-off and pick-up areas.

Together, with just a little patience and care, we can make sure that every student arrives and leaves safely.

Kiss & Go Zone

How to safely use the Kiss & Go Zone

The Kiss & Go Zone on Holt Street is designed to support the safety of children and improve traffic congestion around the school.

Submit an online Kiss & Go registration form.
Receive a sun visor name plate.
Display your name plate through your windscreen.

How it works

Drive all the way to the front of the zone and queue
Please do not stop the car until you reach the top of the queue. This helps other cars arriving behind you and shares the zone in the safest way.
Stay in your car until your children arrive
If your children are not there ready for pick-up when you arrive, you are required to drive around the block. This keeps traffic flowing through the zone and prevents you receiving a penalty for exceeding the 2 minute stopping time.
Load your children and their bags promptly
Ensure seatbelts are secure then leave safely

Be timely
The Kiss & Go Zone operates under the same conditions as ‘No Parking‘ zones. If your child does not get in or out of the vehicle within 2 minutes, you must leave and re-enter the Kiss & Go Zone.
Do not leave your vehicle
To assist with traffic flow, drivers should remain in the car whilst children get in and out.
Child safety
Please ensure children get in or out of the vehicle on the kerb side. The back seat is the safest for children to travel. Ensure children have their restraints securely fastened before driving off.
Stay in sequence
Drop off or pick up your child close to the zone, as far forward as possible. This allows vehicles following you to enter the zone in an orderly manner and avoid reversing.
