Making recycling a Slam Dunk!
14 Aug 2026
The Waste Warriors have found a fun new way to turn recycling into a winning game.
This week, students were invited to take part in Recycle! Shoot! Score! as a basketball hoop was rolled out for students to practise their recycling shots. Scoring lines were drawn in chalk, and our Waste Warriors were on hand to supervise the hoop and keep track of the scores.
The challenge is simple: save your 10-cent bottles and juice cartons, bring them to the recycling collection and then take your shot!
It is a great way for students to have fun while helping to keep our playground tidy and raising money for our school. Every bottle and carton makes a difference.
Well done to our Waste Warriors for coming up with such a creative way to encourage our school community to recycle. Let’s keep those recycling shots coming!
Our Kitchen Garden program allows our students to take part in pleasurable food education teaching students to grow fresh, seasonal produce and use it to prepare nutritious, delicious food.
