Helping children build positive behaviour

18 Jun 2026

Strong relationships and positive family routines play an important role in helping children develop confidence, kindness and healthy behaviour.

Children learn and grow best when they feel safe, supported and connected. Clear expectations, encouragement and plenty of positive interactions at home help young people develop good habits and strong social skills. Everyday routines such as regular sleep, healthy meals and time together as a family also play an important role in supporting wellbeing and learning.

As children grow, their behaviour changes and new challenges can arise. Patience, consistency and positive role modelling can help children learn how to manage emotions, solve problems and make good choices.

Families play a powerful role in shaping children's attitudes and behaviour. By working together and creating supportive environments, we can help children develop the confidence, resilience and kindness that will benefit them both at school and beyond.

Strong foundations at home help children flourish in every aspect of their lives.
