This week, our Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 teachers hosted a Literacy Information Evening, with a fantastic turnout from our parent community.

It was wonderful to see so many families eager to learn more about how we support our youngest students on their journey to becoming confident readers and writers.

As part of the evening, we premiered a short film showcasing students from Kindergarten to Year 2 actively engaging in a variety of evidence-based strategies we use to teach reading and spelling. The video provided a glimpse into the vibrant and purposeful literacy learning happening every day in our classrooms.

Special thanks go to Ms Richelle Pollack, Ms Angela Varvaressos and Ms Vanessa Garcia for their insightful presentations and for sharing their expertise with families. We'd also like to express our gratitude to Mr Josh Mawer for directing, filming and editing the video – a powerful visual celebration of early years literacy at Stanmore.
