Alec R emerges as champion in the thrilling 2024 Stanmore Chess Championship, with tough competition from all players.

The 2024 Stanmore Chess Championship was held on Wednesday this week with all players competing in 7 rounds of timed Swiss-system chess.

As you can see from the results table below, the competition was very tight at the top showcasing the remarkable talent and competitive spirit among our young chess enthusiasts.

Congratulations to Alec R, who claimed 1st place on tiebreak, followed by Felix H in 2nd place and Darcy T in 3rd. Well done to everyone that took part.

We would also like to thank Neil Wright from the Academy of Chess for running the event.
