Book Week

Book Week is one of the most exciting celebrations on the Stanmore Public School calendar, and this year's theme, Symphony of Stories, promises a wonderful week of reading, imagination and community.

Join us on Thursday 6 August

Families, grandparents and friends are warmly invited to celebrate with us on Thursday 6 August.

This year, our Grandparents' Morning Tea will be held from 8:30am to 9:00am near the kitchen and flagpole area, supported by our amazing P&C.

Our much-loved Book Parade will begin at 9:15am under the COLA, followed by open classrooms, giving families the opportunity to see students learning and then visit the library during the morning.

Book Drive

Throughout Book Week, we'll once again be holding our annual Book Drive, raising funds to purchase new books and replace well-loved favourites so every student can continue to discover the joy of reading.

When you make a donation, your child will be invited to visit the library during the Book Drive to choose the new book(s) they would like to donate from a carefully selected collection purchased by our librarian, Jan Metzner.

A special bookplate with your child’s name will be placed inside each donated book to recognise their generosity. They’ll also be the very first student to borrow their chosen book before it joins the library collection.

Your support helps every Stanmore student discover new stories, authors and ideas.

Help grow our library – one book at a time

Our school library is one of the busiest places on campus. The books students love most are also the ones that wear out the quickest.

Every contribution to the Book Drive helps our librarian, Jan Metzner, purchase exciting new titles and replace popular books so our shelves remain full of engaging, high-quality reading for every child.

Whether you choose to make a small or larger donation, every gift helps inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.

If you're visiting the school on Book Parade day, we'd love you to stop by the library and support the Book Drive.

If you can't attend, you can still contribute through our online donation form.

Thank you to our sponsor

We are incredibly grateful to Jonathan Hammond of CobdenHayson, who is once again generously sponsoring the Stanmore Public School Book Drive with a $2,000 contribution towards new library resources.

Jonathan has supported this event and other school initiatives since 2016. His remarkable generosity has now contributed more than $62,000 to our school community, helping provide enriching learning opportunities for generations of Stanmore students.

Thank you to everyone who supports our Book Drive. Together, we're helping every child discover their next favourite story.
