Our students have been getting creative on a collaboration with local artist Simon Greiner whose work is on display at an exhibition now showing in Forest Lodge.

KARTON GARTEN is a captivating window installation featuring cardboard creatures at Branch3D, an independent art space in Forest Lodge. This project is a collaboration between Simon Greiner and the students from classes 1P and 3/4A at Stanmore Public School.

During a workshop, students designed their own imaginary creatures, taking into account how elements such as environment, diet, and natural instincts would influence their features and behaviours. From these discussions and the students’ drawings, Simon synthesised a final design and constructed the creatures from recycled cardboard, bringing their creations to life within the exhibition space.

Exhibition

The creatures are on display as part of Simon’s exhibition from now until 28 June, at Branch 3D, 46 Ross Street Forest Lodge.
