Book Drive a huge success
20 Aug 2026
Our school community has once again shown the power of coming together to support reading and learning.
Our annual Book Drive has been an outstanding success, raising an incredible $11,830 to support our school library.
Families generously donated 243 books online, with another 218 books donated at school during our Grandparents’ Morning Tea, supported by our P&C. A further $2,000 was generously donated by our event sponsor, Jonathan Hammond from CobdenHayson Annandale.
This fantastic result will help us keep our library stocked with a wonderful selection of books for students to discover and enjoy. We are very proud to have one of the best-stocked school libraries in NSW.
Our library is much more than a place to read. It is a welcoming and calm space where students can socialise, play games, explore new ideas and relax.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, our P&C for supporting the event, and our librarian, Ms Metzner, for caring for our library so wonderfully. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Jonathan Hammond, whose generous support of Stanmore over many years has now exceeded $62,000.
Together, our community is helping make sure there is always another great story waiting to be discovered.
Our library isn’t only a place where students come to read, it’s a quiet and calming environment where students can relax and socialise with friends.
