Stanmore Reds impressed with clear and convincing arguments to win their first knockout round against a strong Lewisham Public School.

This week, the Stanmore Red debating team entered the first knockout round of the Premier’s Debating Challenge, and they won their debate against a strong Lewisham Public School team, continuing their winning streak!

They drew the negative position on the topic, ‘Top students in the class should dedicate an afternoon each week to help the struggling students’.

They managed to put together clear, evaluated arguments against this concept that outclassed the affirmative team’s ideas.

Our speakers for this debate were Eliza R (1^st), Eliza E (2^nd), Willa M (3^rd) and Phoenix MW (4^th). Lisa O and Jake M took on the roles of timekeeper and chairperson.
