Celebrating Stanmore's young musicians
19 Sep 2025
Stanmore students William T, Marlon C and Marie-Louise M proudly represented our school at this year’s Cantabile Music Festival.
Last Monday, three of our talented students had the amazing opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney South East Symphonic Winds.
William T (clarinet), Marlon C (French horn) and Marie-Louise M (flute) joined more than 100 young musicians from public schools across Sydney. Together, they played under the lights of the Concert Hall stage at the Cantabile Music Festival.
The Symphonic Winds, now in its 31st year, brings together children in Years 5–8 for advanced music education and performance. Students rehearse throughout the year and take part in an annual camp, working with expert conductors and tutors.
The program shows the strength of public education, giving students the chance to learn, grow and share their talents with the wider community.
We're very proud of William, Marlon and Marie-Louise for representing Stanmore Public School at such a special event.
