GreenWay Art Prize

GreenWay Art Prize

This term, students from 4T have been immersed in a unique learning experience focused on their local environment, and specifically the Cooks River.

As part of their studies, each student selected an animal with a historical or current connection to the river and created an artistic representation using various mediums.

The students’ individual works were then combined into a collective piece titled "Fascinating Fauna". This artwork was recently entered into the prestigious GreenWay Art Prize Competition.

This week, 4T students were thrilled to learn that their work has been selected to be showcased at the GreenWay Art Prize exhibition as part of the Primary Schools category.

Exhibition dates and times are listed below, offering the community an opportunity to view the artworks created by these, and other, young artists.

Stanmore Public School would like to thank Trent at Newtown Picture Framing Studio, who sponsored the framing of 4T’s artwork so that it could be displayed.

About the GreenWay Art Prize

A notable event on the Inner West arts and culture calendar, the GreenWay Art Prize celebrates the qualities of the Cooks River to Iron Cove GreenWay–a precious 5.8km urban environmental and sustainable transport corridor in Sydney’s Inner West.

The Art Prize was established in 2010 to capture the essence of the GreenWay through visual art and to celebrate the vibrancy, creativity and community spirit of the Inner West.

Showcasing the talent of emerging artists from across the region, the primary school section highlights the creativity and environmental awareness of local students.
