The Tomato Festival is on NOW!

Tomato Festival

It has become a tradition in recent years to run an annual Tomato Festival at Stanmore Public School.

Our kitchen classroom teacher, Ms Dimitra, prides herself on only using the best produce to create her delicious dishes with the students sourcing most fresh veggies from our own Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.

Passata is a common ingredient and, instead of buying jar sauce, Ms Dimitra prefers to make her own with the students using Cornersmith’s Tomato Passata recipe.

We ask families to donate juicy ripe tomatoes, garlic and onions to the Kitchen which students turn into passata to use in kitchen classes throughout the year.

Please donate ripe tomatoes, garlic and onions

If you find some cheap, lusciously ripe tomatoes, they’re perfect for Pasatta! Please grab a few extra to donate. Garlic and onions are need for the recipe too.

Students can leave donations in the baskets outside the Kitchen any day from now until Thursday, February 29.

Tuesday, February 20 – Thursday, February 29

Students will be chopping, pureeing and bottling away in weeks 4 & 5 (Tue, Feb 20 - Thu, Feb 29) making our very own Tomato Passata.

Volunteer for Kitchen Classes

Join us as a parent volunteer and contribute to our Kitchen classes.

Taking place from Tuesday to Thursday during term time, lessons can range from 40 to 80 minutes, tailored to the learning stage.

By volunteering, you don't just gain a unique and enjoyable experience, but also a chance to participate actively in your child's educational journey and witness their progress first-hand.

Check out our class schedule and sign up online today.
